Aviation Students Visit Washington, D.C.

A group of six aviation students from the EKU Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) traveled to Washington D.C. November 11-13 to visit Dulles International Airport, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, and the National Mall.

Construction Students Compete at ASC Conference

EKU Construction fielded a team of six students and one faculty advisor at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 3 Conference in Downers Grove, Ill., October 12-15, 2016. As one of the member schools in ASC Region 3, the team competed with ten other universities including Ohio State, Cal Poly, Ball State and Eastern Michigan in the ASC Pre-Construction Competition.

Construction Management students laced up their sneakers for a run with the Prez in the 2016 Homecoming 5k. The 39th Annual event led EKU's Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 22nd, finishing on the field at Roy Kidd Stadium.

Construction Management Program Earns ACCE Re-accreditation

The Board of Trustees of the American Council for Construction Education announces the renewal of accreditation of the Construction Management Program at Eastern Kentucky University.  The Program has maintained the stringent standards of ACCE, and has proven to the Board, through a visiting team of its peers and industry practitioners, that the program is worthy of reaccreditation.

Hoskins selected as 2016 Phi Kappa Phi Martin Award Recipient

The Henry Martin Scholarship, a $500 cash award, was presented to Mr. Tony L. Hoskins at the Eastern Kentucky University Scholars Day Assembly on Friday, April 15, 2016. Hoskins, a senior non-traditional student from Richmond, Ky., majoring in Aerospace Technology and Aviation Professional Flight, was also inducted into the Society at a formal ceremony later that afternoon.

On Thursday and Friday, April 7-8, fourteen EKU aviation students were interviewed by ExpressJet Airline recruiters for First Officer pilot jobs. Ralph Gibbs, Director of Aviation, said that this is the first event of its kind for EKU and highlights EKU Aviation achievements and successes.

Chism selected as 2016 Distinguished Alum

EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology, along with the School of Applied Arts and Technology, is pleased to announce that Mr. Kyle Chism has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2016.

Mr. Chism was honored during a presentation in April at the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology College to Careers Conference.
