EKU Aviation students recently attended the 2017 Annual Southeast Chapter Conference of the American Association of Airport Executives held in Knoxville, Tenn., from April 23-25, 2017. Attendees include: Dustin Wittman, Nate Schattner, Maggie Smith, Tyler Meredith, Jennifer Chilton, Jacob Pierce, Adam Ackerman, Cameron Sidor, Rebecca Schmid, Justin Graham, Samuel Cleary, and Mike Smith.

EKU Construction Management faculty and staff hosted the 11th Annual Recognition Banquet on April 20, 2017, to honor outstanding students, as well as those individuals and companies who have demonstrated exemplary service. This year’s reception and dinner was held in Arlington's Mule Barn. EKU President Michael Benson was on hand to greet guests and make opening remarks.

EKU Aviation Students Earn Prestigious Corporate Internship

The sky is the limit for two Eastern Kentucky University Aviation students, Sam Elliott and Horace Hunter. Both were granted internships with Ward/Kraft Inc. Ward/Kraft, Inc. is a nationally known leader in the design and production of labels, plastics, Commercial print, mailers and Business documents including continuous, unit set, cut sheet, labels and form/label combinations.

Zhang Receives ASC Regional Teaching Award

Congratulations to Dr. Chengyi (Charlie) Zhang, Assistant Professor of Construction Management for winning the 2017 Associated Schools of Construction ASC Regional Teaching Award. The award is made annually to untenured or tenure track faculty, with two to six years of teaching experience at an ASC member school.

Hunter Selected 2017 AET Distinguished Senior

Mr. Horace Hunter has been named the 2017 Distinguished Senior for EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology. He will be honored during a presentation in April at the Applied Engineering and Technology College to Careers Conference.

The student is selected based on superior academic achievement, excellent leadership, citizenship, character and services to EKU.

EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology, along with the School of Applied Sciences and Technology, is pleased to announce that Mr. Russell Sells II has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2017.
