TECH selects Phyllis Crume as 2006 distinguished alum
EKU's Department of Technology is pleased to announce that Ms. Phyllis Crume has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2006.
Ms. Crume was honored during a presentation on Friday, April 7, 2006, at the annual College of Business and Technology Professional Skills Conference senior recognition luncheon.
The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.
Ms. Phyllis Crume (1983, BS Industrial Technology; Business Minor), Department of Technology
Ms. Crume earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology - Industrial Electronics from EKU in 1983. She was employed by Johnson Controls for 18 years, advancing to the position of Plant Manager - one of the few females selected to that position.
Ms. Crume received the ultimate compliment from a customer of 18 years by being selected as the Assistant General Manager of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing, North America Assembly Plant in Georgetown, Kentucky.
She is also active in the community as a United Way Board member, member of the Scott County Chamber of Commerce Board, and Steering Committee Member for Bluegrass Women United for the Future of Women and Girls, a new women’s group that began in 2005. She is joined today by Darlene and Russell Crume.
The college also honored distinguished seniors for the year as selected by their respective departments within the College of Business and Technology. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2005-06 academic year were recognized. Students were honored for outstanding achievement and more than 40 area employers were on hand to engage in networking activities with college graduating seniors.
