Berry Selected 2018 AET Distinguished Alum

EKU's Department of Applied Engineering and Technology, along with the School of Applied Sciences and Technology, is pleased to announce that Mr. Brandon L. Berry has been selected as their departmental distinguished alum for 2018.

Berry will honored during a presentation in April at the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology College to Careers Conference.

The honor is reserved for special alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions through excellence, dedication, and service.

Mr. Berry (2009 BS Construction Management; 2014 MS Applied Engineering and Technology) is Vice President, Central Kentucky Division, of Wehr Constructors, Inc., in Lexington, Ky.

Since 2011, he has been working in the Central Kentucky Region focused almost exclusively in the healthcare arena. In 2015, he was named the Central Kentucky Operations Manager and became the director Wehr’s efforts in this market, then Vice President of the Central Kentucky Division in 2017.

Ranging from interior healthcare renovations to new 90,000 square foot facilities, his experience in healthcare construction offers clients valuable expertise. He achieved his LEED certification in 2011, and serves as the company’s main contact for MEP coordination and BIM modeling.

Berry earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. He is LEED AP, BD+C Certified and is also a KSHE Certified Healthcare Contractor. His project work includes such notables as the $50 million Clark Regional Medical Center and the $30 million 21c Museum Hotel.

Congratulations Mr. Berry on being selected as the 2018 Distinguished Alum representing the Department of Applied Engineering and Technology.

The department will also honor distinguished seniors for the year. Ms. Haley Jo Haning, from Richmond, Ky., who is earning a BS in Aviation Professional Flight with a minor in Aerospace Management, was selected as the AET departmental distinguished senior. In addition, recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2017-18 academic year will be recognized and honored for outstanding achievement.
